Our annual District Awards Dinner was held on April 30th at the Handlery Hotel. Our theme for this year was "Wild Wild West" and many dressed the part. A special "thank you" goes out to Angela Engquist, for putting together another outstanding and memorable event.
We were honored to have Mike Pieratt, as our special guest speaker this year. Mike shared his experience as a high school baseball coach and his connection to Little League. Mike and his staff has been an asset to all of our D33 coaches through his expertise training clinics that are sponsored by the District every year.
A Wild Wild West costume contest was held with many great outfits to choose from. Our judges had a difficult time choosing a winner but after a lengthy discussion, winners were announced. Congratulations to Ken, Carol, Sami, Malcom, April and Ron for taking home the prize.
Gifts cards were donated by leagues and were raffled off to lucky winning tickets and a 50/50 draw for $220.00 was handed out to one lucky winner, Mitchell Galicia from La Mesa National Little League.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and shutdown, this was the first time in 2 years that we could get together and have a fun time meeting other leagues members and share stories of Little League.
Pete Gregorivic, Assistant District Administrator and Mark Beall, District UIC had the honors of presenting the following awards to these outstanding volunteers in our local leagues for 2020, 2021 and 2022. Not all award winners were present at the dinner, some photos were taken at various locations around District 33. Be sure to thank the award recipients when you see them at the fields for all their hard work and dedication to the youth of San Diego.
