The rain didn’t stop the players from playing. Three fields, three days, eight teams, twelve games and one tournament champion. Congratulations to the Lake Murray Phillies for their hard-fought win over the Tierrasanta White Sox in the 15th Annual Clay Berry Invitational on Sunday afternoon, March 26th.
This year’s tournament was graciously hosted by Murphy Canyon Little League, La Mesa National Little League, and Lake Murray Little League under the careful guidance of District 33 Staff. While the games were not able to be played at the Little League Western Region Headquarters in San Bernardino as they have in prior years, keeping the tournament local proved to be a huge success.
Thank you to the parents, league volunteers, fans and everyone that helped to make the CBI happen. For many of the players, this is their first taste of the “next level” of baseball play, and without the help of our District volunteers, the tournament would not have been the success that it was.
